Andersen Genève Communication 45 for The Horology Club, enamel dial and blue mother-of-pearl city ring

Introduction

In a celebration of independent watchmaking and the enduring art of the worldtimer, The Horology Club (THC) is proud to unveil a special collaboration with Andersen Genève. Twelve unique pieces based on the Communication 45 will be created exclusively for the THC community.

Since its founding, The Horology Club has championed the work of independent makers who combine traditional craftsmanship with personal expression. Andersen Genève, long regarded as a master of the classical worldtimer, represents this ideal perfectly. The collaboration brings together the brand’s signature Communication 45 case architecture with customisations conceived by THC.

A First in Tantalum and Personal Expression

The THC edition introduces a two-tone case in tantalum and platinum — the first time Andersen Genève has worked with tantalum. The centre enamel design and choice of 24 cities on the city ring are fully customisable by each owner, while the rotor is also offered with customisation options. A blue mother-of-pearl city ring provides a distinctive THC detail that complements the personalisation of the dial.

These pieces retain the specifications of the standard Communication 45: a 38 mm case of refined proportions, handcrafted without CNC machinery by long-time collaborator Marco Poluzzi in La Chaux-de-Fonds, sapphire crystals front and back with double-sided anti-reflective coating, dual crowns, and water resistance to 30 m. The movement pairs Andersen Genève’s ultra-slim in-house worldtime module (originally developed by founder Svend Andersen for the 1990 Communication) with a reworked vintage A. Schild base calibre, delivering hours, minutes and world time at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 40-hour power reserve.

A Tribute to the Art of the Worldtimer

Andersen Genève revived the classical Louis Cottier-style worldtimer for contemporary haute horlogerie with the original Communication of 1990 and has remained its foremost specialist ever since. The Communication 45 continues this lineage in a compact, elegant form, with a 24-hour rotating ring and city disc that allow the wearer to read time zones around the world at a glance. For THC, the collaboration extends that heritage through material innovation and individual customisation, creating pieces that reflect both the maker’s mastery and the collector’s personal vision.

In Conclusion

The Andersen Genève Communication 45 for The Horology Club is a limited expression of shared values: the precision and artistry of independent watchmaking, the elegance of the classical worldtimer, and the desire of a community of collectors to commission timepieces that are truly their own. Limited to 12 pieces, it is a significant addition to the collection of THC members and a new chapter in Andersen Genève’s worldtimer story.
