Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924, and a dial colour used in the 1940s and 50s.
The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator.
The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case.
The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon comes with the option of either:
Open exhibition caseback - offering an unobstructed view of the finely decorated movement housed inside.
Closed caseback - offering the perfect canvas for personalisation with a custom engraving (please discover engraving options here).
The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon features a dial similar to those used on special Fears watches in the 1940s and 50s. This rich tone is created using galvanic coatings of 18ct rose gold and copper.
Expertly made in Germany, the surface of the dial features a delicate vertical brushing, applied by hand, making each dial unique and allowing it to catch the light in a beautiful, subtle way. This effect is complemented by the concentric circle finishing on the sunken sub-seconds, at 6 o’clock.
The hand-applied numerals are milled from a block of brass before being diamond polished and then coated in anthracite, to give a warm, grey finish. These numerals are realised in our custom ‘Edwin’ typeface, specially designed for Fears by our horological typographer and inspired by the many different typefaces the company has used throughout its history.
The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon features iconic ‘Fears’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in blue using physical vapor deposition, the colour of the hands changes in the light from almost black to electric blue.
The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon is powered by a Swiss made, manual-winding ETA 7001 movement. This accurate movement was first designed in the 1970s, and its reliability has ensured its continuing popularity today. Each movement features blued screws and Côtes de Genève striping.
Each Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon can be fitted with a handmade Raven Black strap crafted from Buffalo leather (sourced from the Himalayas), lending a more sophisticated feel to the watch. This premium leather is some of the strongest and most durable available.
This leather has been tanned in the same way it has been for centuries, using organic materials (and not modern techniques that utilise chemicals). It is not stretched during the tanning process, so is thicker more hard-wearing as a result.
Lined in genuine Alcantara® dyed a deep shade of blue, this lining is supremely soft against the skin yet resistant against wear. This strap is finished with Fears' new bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher).

The perfect fit!
We can adjust the bracelet size for you before sending it. Please contact us by email with your order number and wrist size and we’ll do the rest. We will provide any spare links in an envelope with your watch.
Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.
All Fears watches are presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke shade of blue. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lies flat. Recognising the company's heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the names of both the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.
The top of the box is discreetly engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.
