Hands-on Highlights from 2024

7 September 2024 · The Horology Club

Not everything we try on makes it into a full YouTube episode. Here are some of the watches we went hands-on with on Instagram in 2024.

Beda'a Fortress

Qatari brand Beda'a's take on Art Deco with a Middle Eastern twist: a 37.5 x 28mm rectangular case just 6.8mm thick, with a two-layer dial combining a frosted base and an upper layer of enamel inserts and cut-outs.

Beda'a The Angles

A 37mm octagonal case only 5.4mm thick, made possible by a quartz movement, which also keeps it relatively affordable at around US$700. It wears extremely well.

H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner

Moser released three new Streamliners, and we got hands-on with all three.

Angelus at Swiss Prestige

Angelus has a rich history of award-winning chronographs and continues the tradition in a modern package. We tried them on at the Swiss Prestige boutique in The Peninsula; they need to be seen in the metal to be fully appreciated.

IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar and the Aiguille d'Or

The GPHG 2024 Aiguille d'Or winner, alongside the trophy itself, at the IWC Perpetual Studio in IFC Hong Kong.

For the full episode on the Eternal Calendar, read our Buckle Up hands-on.
